Okay, so here we go! WELCOME to the second story arc of Ninja and Pirate! It’s gonna be fun on the sun! You know, without the terrible third degree burns, and instantaneous combustion, and lack of atmosphere, and terror at your life flashing before your eyes as you boil from the inside out. But other than that it’s totally similar! What’s that you say? You didn’t read the first arc? Well, here you go ethereal voice! Here’s the link to the first comic: And So It Begins! What’s that again, voice? Dress in a loin cloth and overthrow the state? Why, that idea’s crazy enough to work! Thanks, Psychosis!
So I was kind of down the other day with my comic and the number of views Ninja and Pirate was getting, or lack thereof. Thankfully, my new buddy Mark was able to smack some sense into me so today I am bottling up my depression and fear of inevitable failure in order to not make, you, the reader feel uncomfortable! I mean…I am totally fine! Seriously though, Mark’s a really cool guy and you should check out his stuff. His webcomic is Adorable Crap. No, that’s the name of it. It’s name is Adorable Crap and it’s definitely got some Far Side influence to it, meaning it is well worth your time. Plus, the way he draws this crap is adorab…Oohhhhhh I get it. So thanks to him for keeping me up to speed on the webcomic. Otherwise you may have just had an ink page spattered with tears and lonliness for this week’s scan.
In other news, Ninja, Pirate, and I will be attending the Sci-Fi Expo February 9th and 10th! You should totally come down and see me if you’re gonna be in the Dallas area. It even has some amazing guest artists like Adam Hughes and George Perez!! I squealed like a girl when they announced them at FanDays. It’s super exciting!
So the wife and I finally got settled down into our new apartment and moved in. It should be interesting. It’s tiny but it’s beginning to look like a home. The family that was living there isn’t too much of a bother as long as you make sure the ropes are tight and the pantry door is locked from the outside. Other than that it’s totally cozy. My furry four-legged daughter went chew crazy the first day she was left alone there and did some damage to Alli’s iPad, a pomegranate, some cardboard, and other fun stuff. Yay. Still, she’s adorable and usually a good girl so I can’t be too mad at her.
So let’s see, what comic should I recommend this week? Hmm…OH! My awesome sister-in-law got me the Avengers vs. X-Men omnibus for Christmas and it’s seriously cool! I enjoy the story a lot and it has this awesome augmented reality stuff you can view through a smart phone app that adds a ton to the experience. I was never that big of a fan of John Romita Jr.’s art style, but he pulls off some awe inspiring stuff too. The best part of the comic is, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, Scott Summers. Ever since he founded X-Force he has been slowly spiraling down a darker path and it finally reaches its apex in AvX. His transformation is chilling. If you want to see a really great comic with some great writing I’d recommend it. It’s pure fun.
Anyway folks, I’ve gotta get back to work. I’ll talk to you all later! Enjoy this week’s Ninja and Pirate and tell your friends about it! The more the merrier!
