Guys, my dog might have cancer. I’m sorry. I took my wife to dinner so we could talk about it. It wasn’t easy but I couldn’t finish my strip tonight. I’m very sorry. Ammy has been a part of my family for about seven years now and she’s been the only dog my kids have known. She was my first daughter and I loved her like one. I don’t know what I’m going to do so I hope you will all forgive me for taking the day. Thank you.
Sorry to read about your dog , Ammy . Family comes first.
Take your time! Focus on what’s important right now. My sister’s dog had cancer last summer – the tumor popped into view once it was about the size of a softball, and the only indicator we had before it did was that she wasn’t eating and was hiding in her favorite bush for a couple days. Thankfully it hadn’t metastasized and they were able to surgically remove it, and I wasn’t working so I could spend the next month caring for her. Even then, the decision to surgically remove was a hard one, and one we’ve decided not to put her through again if it comes back.
Nonetheless, it’s a road full of tough decisions. I’ll be praying for you all (if that’s alright with you) and I hope that, whatever choices you have to make, you also take the time to take care of yourself and your own needs, since it can be so easy to neglect yourself and those around you in these times.
