Unfortunately, spiders never actually got that big. The largest arthropod was a dragonfly with a two foot wingspan. The Goliath Birdeater is still the largest spider known as far as I can tell. So I guess I should say, we don’t have any EVIDENCE spiders never got that big. Maybe because they’re all hiding. In their trapdoors…

I’m so glad I don’t live somewhere with wolf spiders or I’d probably be too afraid to even walk on any soft, diggable surface.
